How it works

  • See — upload or have us pull your IRS records; get reports on balances, timeline, notices, and what needs attention.
  • Plan — add your income and expenses; see which IRS options fit your situation (ranked from IRS records and your facts — you or your CPA review before acting).
  • Do and watch — track forms and deadlines, then refresh your records to confirm the IRS actually posted what you did.

What the IRS shows

Balances, notices, which returns are on file, and what has actually posted — built from your IRS records, not one scary total.

What your household can afford

Income, expenses, and ability to pay — what you can realistically afford while you work through the account.

What you are trying to protect

Goals, constraints, and timing — what matters in your life while you work through the account, and what you want to protect first.

Plan

Fit the account to your life and finances.

A balance is rarely one event. Brevitax reconstructs the sequence — then helps you compare options that fit what the IRS shows, what you can afford, and what you are trying to protect.

Do and watch

Know what to produce and track the work.

Not everything requires action. Brevitax separates noise from what deserves attention, surfaces practical next steps, and tracks forms, deadlines, and verification as you move.

Keep watching

Refresh records when something may have moved.

Filing or paying does not mean the IRS posted it yet. Compare fresh records to your last review so you know what actually changed.

Your files are encrypted and used only to build your account view — never sold.

Because “we handled it” should not be the end of the story.

Filing or paying doesn't mean the IRS has posted it. Refresh your records and Brevitax shows exactly what changed since your last look.

Common questions

What is Brevitax?

Brevitax is software that turns your IRS account transcripts into plain-language reports. You see balances, notices, and what changed — for $29/mo, without a firm taking over your case.

Does Brevitax use AI?

Yes, for parts of the product — like plain-language summaries and draft strategy options. Balances and enforcement signals come from parsed IRS records and rules, not guesswork. All outputs are for your review; Brevitax is software, not a law firm, and does not represent you before the IRS.

Do I have to give Brevitax power of attorney?

No. Form 8821 lets us request and view your IRS records; it does not let us represent you or sign on your behalf. Power of attorney (Form 2848) is different — that is what a representative uses to act for you.

How do I get my IRS transcripts?

Download them free from IRS.gov in about ten minutes — we show every click — or choose a plan where we request records for you. Upload a PDF and Brevitax builds your reports.

Is Brevitax a tax relief company?

No. Brevitax is software for your IRS account — not a law firm and not someone who takes over your case.

How is this different from hiring a firm?

Firms represent you and charge for it. Brevitax shows you your own account for $29/mo, and your case stays yours.

Can my CPA use Brevitax too?

Yes. Households and tax professionals can share the same reports and tracked work. Brevitax Pro gives firms unlimited users and cases. Brevitax Pro →

Is my data safe?

Your files are encrypted and used only to build your account view — never sold. Security →

Can I cancel?

Yes. Cancel anytime in Settings. Self-serve includes a 3-day free trial before the first monthly charge.
